Alam El Shawish West (EG)

Alam El Shawish West is an onshore production concession part of the Operated by Others (OBO) portfolio and is located in the Western Desert - Egypt. It is composed of three areas: Al Karam, Al Assil, Al Barq.

ENGIE E&P entered in this concession in July 2007 with a 45% non-operated participating interest and then sold a part of their participation to Shell Egypt who became the operator in 2010 with a 20% participating interest.

First oil production started in December 2007 and in 2010, average oil production rate was about 2,150 bbl/d through ten wells.

The development of the gas fields started in 2010 with the construction of an early production facility that brought gas on stream in July 2010. In November 2014, a gas development project was successfully completed with first gas entering a CO2 removal unit from Assil & Karam fields.

At the end of 2016, the cumulated production from AESW reached 57.8 million barrels of oil equivalent, the estimated remaining 2P reserves are of 66 million barrels of oil equivalent.
