Maria Moraeus Hanssen – Chief Executive Officer

Maria is CEO of ENGIE E&P and Head of the Business Unit E&P in the ENGIE Group.

She joined ENGIE in 2014 as the Managing Director in Norway and has been CEO for global E&P activity since October 2015. Prior to ENGIE, Maria spent five years as an Investment Director with Aker Group and before that she held various roles at Norsk Hydro Oil and Energy and Statoil ASA, including Head of Field Development NCS, Offshore Installation Manager Troll B and EVP Gas Supply and Transportation. Maria graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and from IFP School in Paris with a degree in Petroleum Economics. Since 2015, Maria has been a member of the board of YARA International ASA where she is Vice Chairman and the Chairman of the audit committee.

Ruud is the Technical Director of ENGIE E&P.

Ruud Bos – Technical Director

Ruud is the Technical Director of ENGIE E&P. Ruud joined ENGIE more than 10 years ago as Managing Director at ENGIE Supply, Trade & Marketing Nederland. In 2008 he was appointed as President and CEO of the North American affiliate of ENGIE E&P, before becoming CEO of ENGIE Energie Nederland N.V. in February 2010. He has been Managing Director of ENGIE E&P in the Netherlands since 2014. Ruud has a proven track record for more than 20 years in up, mid and downstream (oil, gas and power). Ruud worked at GasUnie, GasTerra and Eneco in various management functions before joining ENGIE. Ruud holds an MSc for Management Science at the University of Groningen.

Laurent is the Chief Finance Officer for ENGIE E&P.

Laurent Dallet – Chief Finance Officer

Laurent has been the Chief Finance Officer for ENGIE E&P since 2015. Laurent began his career at ENGIE E&P as a Reservoir Engineer in France and in Norway. He then moved into finance, first in E&P as Financial Analyst and then in the ENGIE Group. After spending two years coordinating the merger project with SUEZ, Laurent returned to the financial sector as CFO of the French nuclear consortium to build nuclear plants in UAE. From 2009, Laurent held the position of Head of M&A, Project Finance, Corporate Finance and Treasury in the Energy Services Business Line.

Eva Fagernes – Chief Procurement Officer

Eva is Chief Procurement Officer for ENGIE E&P. She has been with ENGIE E&P since 2006. She worked for ENGIE E&P in Norway as Head of Supply Chain Management from 2015 to 2017 and as Head of HSEQ from 2006 to 2015.

Before joining the company in 2006 she worked for Safetec Nordic and Aker Offshore Partner.

Eva holds a Master degree in Science, Industrial mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and an Executive Master degree, in Business Administration, from the University of Stavanger.

Marc heads up the Strategy & Business Development function for ENGIE E&P.

Marc Hauchecorne – Head of Strategy & Business Development

Marc holds the Senior Vice President Strategy and Business Development position since 2015. He joined ENGIE E&P in 2012 as Head of the Development Service in the Project Management Department. Marc has been working at ENGIE for 24 years. He has over 20 years of international contracting background within Degrémont SA (SUEZ) including 12 years posted in Asia and over four years in North America, during which he held various operational positions, including Head of Affiliates and member of the Degrémont Executive Committee. Marc graduated as Engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées in France.

Martina is Head of Human Resources for ENGIE E&P.

Martina Ifflaender – Head of Human Resources

Martina is Head of Human Resources for ENGIE E&P. Prior to this, she was Human Resources Vice President of ENGIE E&P since 2014. Martina joined ENGIE in 2002, when she was appointed as Head of Human Resources Manager in Germany. In 2004 she held the position of Deputy Vice President of Corporate Human Resources at ENGIE before going back to Germany in 2008 as Head of Human Resources where she played a role in the merger with Erdöl Erdgas Gommern and to the spin-off of storage activities. Martina’s previous roles include being responsible for Human Resources at Salzgitter AG Group, Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft AG (HDW), Preussag Immobilein GmbH and Wolf GmbH. Martina graduated with a master’s degree in Economics and Management (Diplom-Ökonom) from the University of Hanover in Germany.

Harald is the General Secretary at ENGIE E&P.

Harald Knoebl – General Secretary

Harald is the General Secretary at ENGIE E&P. Previous to this he was the General Counsel of ENGIE E&P since 2012. He joined the ENGIE Group in 2002 when he started to work as a legal counsel at ENGIE’s German head office in Berlin in the Legal and Human Resources Department. In 2006, he joined ENGIE E&P as Deputy Head of the Legal Department based in Paris. A doctor of law and a lawyer admitted to the Bar of Berlin, Harald oversaw the development of ENGIE in Germany in its various aspects (E&P, trade & sales, storage and transportation) as well as at the ENGIE E&P Head Office in Paris mainly through its acquisition projects (Indonesia, Australia, Qatar, Libya, US, etc.), and finally the partnership with China Investment Corporation since 2011.

Cedric Osterrieth – Head of Operated by Others

Cedric heads up the Operated by Others function for ENGIE E&P. He joined the ENGIE Group in 2000 and was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in ENGIE E&P for four years holding financial oversight on all E&P activities. In 2015 Cedric became Managing Director in Norway.

Cedric has over 20 years of professional experience in the energy sector, of which nearly half is in the oil and gas sector. He holds a master’s degree in Applied Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, and a Certificate of General Management Programme from CEDEP at Insead in France.

Kick heads up the HSEQ function for ENGIE E&P.

Kick Sterkman – Head of HSEQ

Kick is responsible for HSEQ at ENGIE E&P. Kick joined ENGIE in 2005 when he filled the position of Offshore Installation Manager in the Netherlands until 2007 when he took up the same position in Norway. In 2014, he became the Engineering & Construction Manager in the Netherlands. Since 2015, Kick has brought his in-depth knowledge of safety cultures to the position of Head of HSE. Before ENGIE, he held various engineering positions for international operators such as Clyde Petroleum Exploratie B.V., Wintershall Noordzee B.V. and Expro Group. Kick has a degree in Maintenance Engineering as well as Executive Master of Management and a MSc in Human Factors and System Safety.

Unni Ulland – Chief Information Officer

Unni has been the Chief Information Officer in ENGIE E&P since 2016.

Before joining ENGIE E&P in Norway as ICT Manager in 2014, she worked for IBM for just over eight years and headed up the Oil & Gas Centre of Excellence in Stavanger, reaching out to Norwegian and international clients and colleagues. She has further nine years of experience from managing systems development and service deliveries with Tieto (largest Nordic IT consultancy and software house). Unni has her educational background from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh with a BSc Hon degree in Computer Science.

Ruud heads up the Operated Assets function for ENGIE E&P.

Ruud Zoon – Head of Operated Assets

Ruud heads up the Operated Assets function for ENGIE E&P. Ruud joined ENGIE as the Managing Director in the Netherlands in 2010 until 2014 when he became the Managing Director in the UK.

Ruud has over 30 years of energy industry experience, holding senior management positions in locations including the Netherlands, Canada, USA, South Africa and the UK. Ruud worked at Mobil Oil Corporation, Bluewater Energy Services, Husky Energy and Cirrus Energy Nederland B.V. His roles included Vice President Floating Production and Vice President East Coast Operations. Ruud holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Technical University in Delft.

Dominique is Managing Director for ENGIE E&P in Germany.

Dominique Bayen – Managing Director of ENGIE E&P in Germany

Dominique Bayen was appointed Managing Director of ENGIE E&P in January 2014.

After various positions in EDF nuclear power plants, he entered the ENGIE Group in 1988 where he held different managing positions for ENGIE in Paris Headquarter in gas purchase / transport and in Europe as Prokurist in MEGAL GmbH in Germany, as Commercial Manager in Erdöl Erdgas Gommern GmbH and as Managing Director of Steirische Gas Wärme GmbH in Austria. From 2010 to 2013 Dominique Bayen was General Manager in Electricité de Tahiti.

Born in 1958, Dominique Bayen graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris and holds a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from UC Berkeley and an Executive MBA from HEC.

Jean-François Letellier is Head of the Major Projects Mission.

Jean-François Letellier – Head of the Major Projects Mission

Jean-François is the Head of the Major Projects Mission of ENGIE E&P.

He joined ENGIE E&P in 2010 as Managing Director of our affiliate in Australia and then as Vice President Projects at the Head Office. Jean-François has been working at ENGIE for 28 years. He has extensive experience in management of industrial projects, as well as of operational and functional teams, in the sectors of nuclear, gas transmission, heat generation, power generation, LNG and exploration-production, in Europe but also in Australia and South Korea.

Jean-François graduated as Engineer from the Institute National Polytechnique of Grenoble in France.

Country Directors

Ian is the Country Director for the UK, representing ENGIE E&P in the UK.

Ian Conacher – Country Director for the UK

Ian is the Country Director for the UK, representing the legal entity of ENGIE E&P in the UK.

Ian has over thirty one years of experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry in up-stream E&P. Graduating with a BSc Eng (hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, Ian’s career began in drilling before moving on to design. For 15 years, he worked in field development, A&D, pre-development and de-commissioning for Shell and Talisman. He joined ENGIE E&P in the UK in 2011 initially as the Cygnus Development Manager and subsequently as Manager of Assets. He holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde.

Gamal is Country Director for Egypt, representing ENGIE E&P in Egypt.

Gamal Kassem – Country Director for Egypt

Gamal is Country Director for Egypt, representing the legal entity of ENGIE E&P in Egypt.

Gamal has worked in the oil & gas industry since the beginning of his career, starting in 1978 as Personnel Officer in Imex International & Medi Trade Group of companies. After working for the Egyptian branch of RWE DEA from 1995 to 2009, Gamal joined ENGIE E&P in 2009 as Human Resources & Administrator Manager for our Egyptian affiliate. Here he was also acting as Deputy Managing Director and Office Manager from 2013 to 2017.

Gamal graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration of Cairo University in 1978. He also holds a Diploma in HR Management from 2001.

François is Country Director for Algeria, representing ENGIE E&P in Algeria.

François Lagardère – Country Director for Algeria

François is the Country Director for Algeria, representing the legal entity of ENGIE E&P in Algeria.

François has been with the ENGIE Group since 1990. He has held positions within the Finance function for entities like SITA France, SEEAL, NOVERGIE SA, Lyonnaise Communication and Lyonnaise Santé Semacs.

Since 2010, he has been working with ENGIE E&P's activities in Algeria. First as CFO for Groupement TOUATGAZ from 2010 to 2014, and as Country Delegate and Director of the Alger office from 2015.

Cedric is Country Director for Norway, representing ENGIE E&P in Norway.

Ben Waardenburg – Country Director for the Netherlands

Ben is Country Director for the Netherlands, representing the legal entity of ENGIE E&P in the Netherlands.

Ben joined Placid, one of ENGIE E&P's predecessors of the Dutch assets, in 1981. Ben has almost 40 years of E&P experience in a variety of positions with both service and operating companies. Ben's last function was Head of Operations managing Drilling, Production and Logistic operations in the Netherlands. Ben holds a MSc in Mining Engineering from the Delft University of Technology.
